01/14/2012

Today was cold and rainy. We were out at the barn in the morning, so we spent the rest of the day warming back up and enjoying some family at home time. The kids were getting bored so Kellen thought of a great idea. He asked Gracie if she wanted to go shopping. Her eyes lit up. Kellen said, "We can go shopping in our kitchen!" And then Cole got excited too. "O.k.!" he said. So Kellen had Cole write up a list of the things they needed. The kids decided what to put on the list: Chocolate milk, eggs, candy, and transformers were among the things on the list. Then Gracie got her shopping cart and drove to the kitchen with dad. Cole had his list on hand to keep them on track and together they filled the shopping cart. They took their items to the cash register where a friendly clerk was waiting. She rung up their food and toys, they paid, and she gave them their receipt. Cole and Gracie (and dad and mom) LOVED it! We did it a few times more, and it was a fun Saturday.
