Cole's Birthday!

Cole is now 7!!! This morning I went in to Cole's room and sat him on my lap. I looked at his face from every angle, and said, "You....look like a seven year old today." He said that's because he is a seven year old today. So exciting, and it also does make me feel a little heart-wrenched that he's getting bigger. You truly never do have those precious moments of holding him as a baby or toddler ever again.

He loves Minecraft. So that was his party theme. We had a lot of fun getting ready for this one, and all the work really paid off! It was a great party! I felt like everything we did for it was honestly used/played with/enjoyed by all of the boys. That was nice :) And, most importantly, Cole loved it.
TNT boxes that had a bottle of Coke in each of them. We did the Mentos/Coke bomb with each of them!

I just love that he has the exact same face in all three of these! I laugh every time I see them.
Minecraft is about building whatever you want from different materials, so we had the different building materials and whatever else found in Minecraft as snack themes.

Cole had nine friends come. We split them into three groups and had 20 min at each station.

Potion Station! In Minecraft you can build a Brewing Station to make potions for yourself such as Potion of Strength, Potion of Regeneration, Potion of Poison... I really learned a lot about Minecraft preparing for the party.... In our case, Seltzer water was the base for every potion, then you added a scoop of Nether Wart (sugar), then picked your preferred substance such as Magma Cream, Spider's Eye, or Redstone (all Kool Aid powders) to create the desired potion. And the kids LOVED doing this!

Bead Station: I don't what these are called, but the kids made different Minecraft designs then I ironed the beads together.

And of course there was an actual Minecraft-playing station. We borrowed the Xbox and game and I must say I enjoyed watching them play it. I don't really watch Cole play it on the iPad. I would be open to the idea of getting an Xbox just so Cole could play this with other people and we could watch. I liked being involved in it with him.

In the toy room the kids could play with the Minecraft paper blocks we bought, or draw, or play with Lego. The paper blocks are cool!

After blowing up the TNT (I missed getting a picture!) we had cake! Made by Kellen. And then PRESENTS....

After presents the kids were unleashed! They were crazy, and it was all so fun!

Tonight Cole opened family presents. He got a Lego set from Grammie and Grumps, sweet cash from Grandma and Grandpa, a plush Minecraft pig from Bea, a Minecraft key chain from Grace, and a set of Mindcraft Handbooks from Kellen and I.  Also, most of his friend presents were also Minecraft themed. So, he's set;)

We sure love this wild and crazy guy.
Happy Birthday Coley Pokey!
